The women making social media feel better in 2026
Follow these role models to help positively disrupt your feed...
We all spend too much time scrolling on our phones - often without thinking about what we’re absorbing while we put our thumbs to use. And, while social media can be a whirlwind of funny memes and group DMs, it can also quietly chip away at our sense of self worth. The posts we see day after day shape our mood, motivation and self esteem far more than we would like to admit.
Which is why curating your feed intentionally matters. In 2018, The Female Lead’s Disrupt Your Feed research with psychologist Dr Terri Apter showed just how strongly the content young women consume can shape their confidence, aspirations and mental health. It proved what many of us already sensed: if the digital world is a place we spend a lot of time, we should make sure it’s filled with voices that lift us up - not wear us down. Creators who feel real, honest and human. People who remind us that growth isn’t linear, bodies aren’t flawless, and you don’t need to have it all together.
In October 2025, we spotlighted a new wave of feed disruptors - women using their platforms to bring truth, compassion and courage into the online space. Now,we’re celebrating even more incredible women who embody the full spectrum of being human: humour, vulnerability, messiness, joy and everything in between. Together, they remind us that social media isn’t just a highlight reel - it can be a tool for confidence, connection and community.
