This is such an important account of how easily symptoms get dismissed as stress. The four-year gap between first symptoms and diagnosis is frustrating but unfortunately common when hormone tests come back 'normal' despite lived experience saying otherwise. The detail about blood tests needing to happen on specific cycle days really highlights how the system isn't set up for people whose cycles are already disrupted, which becomes a catch-22 situaton. Glad HRT finally helped and that knowlege about the PPC is getting shared.

Information was so scarce until recently. Women are stepping up in so many ways.

It’s never too late to improve your health and quality of life, ladies.

I would recommend anyone going through these symptoms to try to find an experienced hormone provider. There are many incredible physicians who don’t just go by “normal“ labs (because the lab ranges are not optimal), but by your symptoms and whole lifestyle. The ones that I think are the best (because they learn the best protocols) can be found through WorldLink Medical Academy. They have a provider finder, and providers all over the USA and the world. I am one of these providers, and I can tell you that women do not have to suffer for so long like you did! We see such incredible improvements with bioidentical hormones when you know how to prescribe them correctly.

I am so happy that you are sharing your journey, along with so many others, so that other women understand more about what’s going on with them and can seek help. You are completely right about having to advocate for yourself, and also to continue to search for a provider who can actually help you. Because we are out there! Most do not take insurance, because our system (in the US at least) does not cover optimal wellness, just treatment of disease states.
