The Disrupt Your Feed role models that you NEED to follow
Our official guide to having the best algorithm ever
It’s no secret that what we see on our feeds shapes how we see ourselves. From filtered perfection to impossible standards, the digital world can distort reality and chip away at self-worth, especially for young women. That’s exactly what The Female Lead’s Disrupt Your Feed campaign set out to change.
In 2018 we collaborated with psychologist Dr Terri Apter, on research that revealed a direct link between the kind of content teenage girls consume and their confidence, aspirations, and mental health. The findings were clear: following authentic, inspiring role models online can significantly improve self-belief and wellbeing.
But who exactly should you be following?
This year, Disrupt Your Feed has evolved into a celebration of creators who are transforming social media into a space for honesty, empowerment, and connection. Each woman on this list embodies the campaign’s mission in her own way, proving that success, beauty, and fulfilment can come in all shapes and sizes.
We’re also proud to award each of them with our DYF Creator Role Model digital badge, a mark of authenticity and inspiration we hope our community will champion and follow.
